First I started with a white poster board and made my own version of 3 Little Bears Sitting on Chairs with acrylic paint. Then I made the clock out of poster board, and then the cat and mouse out of a foam board, held up by some brackets my husband found in the garage.
I had ordered some "Goodnight Moon" print fabric that I wasn't going to use all of, so I made a banner (after ironing some backing on it) for the highchair.
I made food labels and tried to be creative with them - Mush was macaroni and cheese, with have "moon shaped" chicken salad sandwiches on croissants, and of course Moon Pies!
This might have been my favorite score, found an old plastic vintage phone on ebay, it smelled a bit musty but really it was a prop, so it was perfect! (for sale if anyone is interested). Then found some mittens (on sale in Aug in SC!) and made balls of yarn bought at Michaels.
Her gift from us was a Little People Princess castle, which just happened to make a great red house wrapped! Favors were plastic bowls for "mush" (Dollar Store), glow in the dark "moons and stars" (Target $1 aisle) and some goodnight moon stickers. For little guests I found a cute comb and brush combo from the Dollar Store.
For her attire, I ordered the dress from GAP, and then cut out and ironed on a "1" made out of Goodnight Moon fabric. Order oversized large red ballons online and had them blown up at Party City.
Cake made by Peytie Cakes in Goose Creek, had various scenes from the book, and was confetti vanilla flavor, so delicious!
Ordered some cheap green mesh curtains online, and hung them on the door of the club house at the party with this sign...
She did like the cake, despite the picture!
Found star-shaped plastic servers at Party City (left over from 4th of July)
It was a big open room of a pool house at our community club house, so it looks a little empty but we tried to spruce it up! The first line of the book "In the Great Green Room" was on the door coming in, then the first thing in the room "There Was a Telephone and a Red Balloon"!
It was a special day for this momma!
